How do I confirm my email address?
When you create your Go Beyond Celiac account, an email will automatically be sent to the email address you provide. Please check your spam or promotions folder. If you can’t find the email, reach out to us at [email protected]. If you do not confirm your email address, you will not be able to answer any survey questions and eventually your account will be removed.
How do I get the app?
You can download the Go Beyond Celiac app on your Android or Apple devices.
Our app provides a mobile-friendly way to share your experience of living with and managing celiac disease. It also offers helpful insights about events, educational opportunities, and more.
Why should I participate?
Participation in Go Beyond Celiac gives you access to information about yourself, your disease, and how your experience compares to others also living with celiac disease. Your participation provides researchers with critical anonymous information that can help them learn more about how the disease develops, ways to improve diagnosis and information that can lead to new treatment options and even a cure.
Who should participate?
Adults (18 and older) who are diagnosed with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity should participate. Due to differing international privacy regulations, Go Beyond Celiac is currently only available within the United States.
How does it work?
Once you join Go Beyond Celiac, you’ll see a list of surveys to fill out. These surveys ask about your life and experiences with celiac disease. The surveys are collecting data that is important to researchers studying celiac disease.
You can also view Insights, where you can compare your answers to other people in Go Beyond Celiac and learn more about celiac disease research and events.
All of the health information that you submit to Go Beyond Celiac will have any identifying characteristics removed, so your information will remain private. This anonymous information will be shared with qualified researchers conducting celiac disease research.
What does participation involve?
All you have to do to advance celiac disease research is talk about yourself!
You’ll fill out research surveys and answer questions about your own experiences before, during and after diagnosis. Some questions will be multiple-choice, while others will be free-form text. Participation in Go Beyond Celiac is voluntary. Surveys take 10-20 minutes to complete, and you can start and stop at any time. Your information is saved automatically as you complete survey questions.
Why do we need more research on celiac disease?
Researchers still don’t fully understand celiac disease. This lack of information prevents doctors and scientists from making the advances that will help you live better and longer. You and others like you can provide these details by sharing information about your medical and lifestyle experiences with celiac disease.
Is my information private and secure?
Yes. Beyond Celiac takes your privacy very seriously and we have technology and processes in place to keep your information private and secure. Before any information is shared with researchers, any information that identifies you is removed (like your name and email address, for example). We take every precaution that is standard for protecting health information.
